Characters and Settings

*Some of you may want a specific description for each character in the Maple Wood series. Some of you may not even know what Maple Wood is! Well, here it goes.....

Angela Joanne Songs
Angela is the protagonist of the series, the main character of the whole series. She's the voice of the book. In the first book you find Angela and you (the reader) being introduced to Maple Wood boarding school for girls, a name that hides the school's super power intentions. Speaking of super powers, Angela has Telekinesis and she is Telepathic. Two very hard and rare powers that, by hard training, Angela tries to master. She has jet black hair, green eyes, a tan and her California (where she used to live before North Carolina) surf moves aren't that gnarly.

Jenifer Dubois
As the headmistress's daughter, we find Jeniffer (Jenny) to have a wild side. Almost Rebellious if you will. She has a fear for her mother like the rest of the girls at the school. She doesn't want anyone to know that Ms. Dubois is her mother in fear of being teased. She becomes Angela's best friend through out the series and is known for her frizzy red hair and amazing abilities at controlling fire. We also can't forget her famous sentence starter "Oh My Gosh!"

Nichole Patterson
In the beginning of book one we find Nichole to be the antagonist for a short while. She's rich, she's bratty and she'll never let you go without knowing her daddy owns all of the malls in America. Angela soon sees though that her and Nichole are very much alike in the fact that they both can't control their powers. Nichole, her nickname being Nicky, has the ability to control water. We find out in book one that the relationship she has with her family is not as it seems and you don't see the true strength of her powers until the chapter "Super Fight". Some readers may not realize that Nichole is African American.

Lenny Fertaldo
Lenny is a quirky genius who becomes apart of Angela's "Group", during the middle of the first book. Her signature hair style is pigtails and she is often wearing glasses. I never said Lenny's last name in the series but I decided that it should be something unique like "Fertaldo". Her super power is revealed to be that she can control plants. In the first book she mentions that she has a boyfriend who goes to Rutland Terrace and I might introduce him in the second book.

Donatello Morris
Donny (Donatello) becomes Angela's love interest through out the series. He's the one that makes her heart flip and her stomach flutter. Rugged good looks and a smile that could kill all help in that department. Angela learns at the dance that his super power is "Super speed".In the beginning of the first book Angela likes Donny but doesn't admit it when she learns he is dating Rebecca Stewart. He attends Rutland Terrace and it is learned towards the end that his father is Robbert Morris (headmaster of Rutland Terrace), the main antagonist of the series. The villain if you will. In book two we find that Donny is in an internal conflict with himself on whether to be a hero or villain.

Rebecca Stewart
Rebecca is the poplar "Mean girl". Her power is that she can tell if one is lying or not. The reader may think this to be a meaningless talent but her fighting skills are top of the class and the fact that she can sense a lie makes her an excellent liar as well. She is known to have two followers, a shape-shifter and a girl who can turn to full metal and run at high speeds. She dated Donny Morris and becomes some what of an evil sidekick to his father.

Mike Thomson
Mike is a minor character who is introduced in the first book when he dances with Angela at the dance. His last name isn't revealed yet but I decided that Thomson was nice and simple. He is nicknamed by Angela as Mike Booty-grabber after he tries to touch her butt at the dance. At first she sees him as a pain but then she decides to give him a break. Mike is much of a jokester and trouble maker. He has blond cow-licked hair and can shoot lasers from his hands. In book two he is known for trying to hit on Angela.

Adults and Teachers:

Ms. Dubois
Headmistress of Maple Wood boarding school for girls. She is the mother of Jenny Dubois and can control fire as well.

Robert Morris
Headmaster of Rutland Terrace (No longer is). The father of Donatello Morris (Donny). His true powers are unknown but he does consume the energy from the converter in book one. He is the main villain of the series.

Mr. Knox
Mr. Knox (Mr.K) is the "Heroes class" teacher. It is soon discovered that he has the same powers as Angela.

Ms. Namens
Teacher for the school's critical thinking class. She is a teleporter.

Beth Songs
The mother of Angela. She can fly and create force fields.

Timothy Songs
The father of Angela. He has super strength.

Settings:

Maple Wood Boarding School for Girls
A school that on the outside seems to be a regular boarding school, but on the inside it houses the powers and abilities of many teenage girls. In book one the power source to the school is stolen.

Rutland Terrace
A school much like and down the street from Maple Wood only it is a boarding school for boys.

North Carolina
The state Maple Wood, Rutland Terrace and "The City", takes place in.

The City
To keep it simple you may have noticed that I often call the place where Maple wood, Rutland Terrace and the mall is located as "The City".

The Mall
Where Angela and her friends go to have fun and just relax.

The city Radio Tower
Revealed to be owned by Robert Morris and is the place where the final showdown occurs in book one.

The City Park
Where Angela and company meet up to talk about their plan in book one. In book two I had Jenny and Angela actually walk through the park.

The Movies
First revealed in book two as a new addition to the story and The City.

*Well that was a mouthful! If you think I left out a character or place, just comment and I'll gladly accommodate=)
